A late-night investigation at the Old City Jail captured the infamous 'Lavinia Fisher' voice — America's first female serial killer reportedly still haunts her cell.

The Charleston Old City Jail, operational from 1802 to 1939, housed America's first female serial killer Lavinia Fisher and thousands of other inmates. On May 17th, our team conducted a 5-hour investigation of the upper cellblocks.

In the area associated with Lavinia Fisher's imprisonment, at 1:30 AM, our EVP session captured a clear female voice laughing. This was followed by a whispered phrase that, after enhancement, appears to say 'I'm still here.' Both captures were on independent recorders.

Throughout the investigation, the REM pod in the Fisher cell area triggered 22 times — far more than any other location in the building. Thermal imaging showed a consistent cold spot in the northeast corner of the cell, measuring 11°F below ambient temperature.

This investigation supports the long-standing reports from the jail and adds to our growing database of Charleston-area paranormal evidence.
